Rest in the Home of You
Identify the things that help you to feel at home in your body. Do those things. The way you know you feel at home in your body is that your anxiety is a little less, your thoughts are a little quieter, and the feeling of “I should be doing something else” is a little less intense.
Trauma comes in many forms. Childhood abuse, neglect, adult abusive systems, divorce, death, and other maybe more mild experiences. Unhealed trauma shows up as anxiety, fear, anger, and numb emotions (just to name a few).
Healing is in the feeling. Naming your hurts, describing your internal experience, and expressing your most vulnerable feelings are all necessary actions in cultivating a more peaceful life experience.
Choose the path of healing by saying “yes” to those things which bring peace to your life. Take a deep breath in and exhale a big “thanks” to life and all the miracles happening in this moment.
